2012 Infiniti M Hybrid:  The 2012 M Hybrid is first vehicle to showcase Infiniti’s new full parallel hybrid system. This system utilizes an updated version of the 3.5-liter VQ35DE V-6 in conjunction with 50-kW motor (67-hp) that’s powered by Nissan’s proprietary 1.3-kWh lithium battery stack. When combined, the system is claimed to produce about 369 bhp, which is a 39 bhp gain over the M37. All things considered, the entire Hybrid system is quite tidy, adding a total of 264 lb. to the weight of an M37, which puts it right in between an M56 and the all-wheel-drive M56x.

 Although you don’t get quite the punch of that vicious V-8, the Hybrid definitely scoots with lively urgency while delivering its synergistic thrust with a smoothness I’ve never before felt from a VQ.
